One of the fundamental goals in the founding of Rabbit Hole was to enable authors to earn some form of income for their stories.
That's why we introduced a feature that allows readers to give donations (tips) to authors.
If an author chooses to accept tips, a button will appear at the bottom of their stories allowing readers to donate. Because the system relies on PayPal, transaction fees will be automatically deducted. Learn more here. So we encourage tippers to leave larger, less frequent donations to minimize the amount PayPal takes in commission. To keep the site going, Rabbit Hole will also charge authors 20% of received donations.
If an author receives tips for their stories on Rabbit Hole, they will be paid out weekly via PayPal, and the names of all tippers will be shown at the bottom of the stories for which they left the tip.
We'd also like to assure you that authors retain all rights and ownership over their work.
